TEAM BANGLADESH 2012 PFA CHAMPIONS!

Team Bangladesh completed their dominating season as they went on to beat team Taj, medicine 2-1 to claim the 2012 Palau Football Association adult league championship. Team Bangladesh opened the match with a goal in the 6th minute courtesy of Nejam and then followed up by midfielder Malakai Bitu who scored a goal in the 10th minute of the game establishing a 2-0 lead.
Team Taj did not go down without a fight as Futa nailed a goal in the 16th minute to keep their hopes alive. But Team Bangladesh managed to hold off the Taj claiming the narrow 2-1 victory.
PFA President Charles Mitchell thanked all teams and team sponsors for participating in the league and added that the next adult league will start this fall.
Vanuatu’s STOP HIV National Coordinator earns Olympic bid
Trip to the London Olynpics 2012
Vanuatu’s former national table tennis coach in the Beijing Olympics earns a trip to the London Olympics, help this time as a player!   Anolyn “Ano” Lulu,  Vanuatu’s STOP HIV National Coordinator, received news that she qualified for the 2012 Olympics and practically broke into tears of joy.
The Regional STOP HIV Team congratulated Ano on receiving her Olympic bid and is no doubt pleased with the prospect of having one of their own bring global awareness to the STOP HIV program.
Launched in 2008 in coordination with UNAIDS and the International Olympic committee, STOP HIV is an acronym for Sports Training and Outreach Programme on HIV and operates through the National Olympic Committees and National Sport Federations throughout Oceania utilizing the power of sport to deliver education and prevent the transmission of HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections amongst the youth of the Pacific.

Palau Major League Baseball concluded the 2nd round of their 2012 season with a 10-0 drubbing by top team Koror versus Ngerbeches.  The 3rd and final round of PML’s regular season begins next week with a matchup between their top two teams, Koror and Airai.  Stay tuned to OTV for expanded coverage of PML baseball as we get closer to the Post-season.
