Television Producers Training Program is seeking one producer from each island:
- Majuro
- Pohnpei
- Chuuk
- Kosrae
- Yap
- Palau
Oceania Television Network is accepting nominations for the 2012 Television Producers Training Program in Micronesia. One trainee from each island will receive a video camera, page laptop computer and associated equipment to use in the training workshop and for ongoing segment production.
Upon completion of the project the producers will be expected to make weekly contributions to OTV.
Producers will receive:
- Video camera
- Tripod
- Microphone and cables
- Camera bag
- Apple laptop computer with editing software
Training will take place over one week where producers will learn to write, find shoot and edit short video segments. Each student will produce 3 segments during the training. Ongoing training and support will take will continue to be offered by OTV.
Three training courses will take place in the Fall of 2012.
- Majuro
- Pohnpei (included participants from Chuuk and Kosrae)
- Palau (includes participant from Yap)
In order to qualify a candidate must have the following attributes.
- A serious interest in television production
- Computer literate
- Creative
- Able to read and write English
- Reliable
- Outgoing, able to interact with new people
- live in one of the qualifying islands
