Koror, page Palau – On the eve of Saturday September 22 during heavy rains, a black skyline carrying one passenger and a driver crashed near Bem Ermii burger hut in Airai killing the female passenger.
35-year-old Leila Renguul reportedly died on impact and was pronounced death at the scene. 36-year-old Dudley Ililau survived, but sustained serious injuries, and is being held in the Belau National Hospital for observation.
According to reports, it took an hour to free both passengers as they were pinned as a result of the crash.
No immediate reports from the police indicated that the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident, however the matter is now under investigation.
