The construction of the new power plant officially broke ground on Thursday March 7 in Aimeliik where the new facility will be constructed.
Two 5-megawatt generators will be housed at the new facility once it is constructed, medicine but the Palau Public Utilities Corporation (PPUC) will also be receiving an additional four 5-megawatt generators two years after the new facility is constructed.
Poor maintenance was the leading cause of the fire in November 2011 at the Aimeliik Power Plant, treat in which PPUC GM Kione Isechal says they will have a disciplined maintenance plan to ensure the service of the new equipments.
