Pohnpei Utilities Corporation has been rated by the 2012 edition of the Pacific Water and Wastewater Utilities Benchmarking Report as the Best Performing Pacific Water Utility of the Year.
The report surveyed several utilities company in the Pacific region supplying water to over one million people.
The Pacific Water and Wastes Association (PWWA) report surveyed companies on technical performance, drinking water quality, customer services, and financial stability among other indicators.
Despite great reviews on the FSM’s water utility services, PWWA’s Executive Director recommended further improvement in areas such as improved quality of drinking water and managing the demand for water.
Other top performers named includes Water Authority Fiji rated the Best Wastewater and Sanitation Utility, the Samoa Water Authority as the Best Human Resource Management Utility among others.
The report is the second benchmarking report prepared by the regional entity.
