Palau President removes Memorial Day as national holiday – VIDEO

Palau President Tommy Remengesau Jr. has removed Memorial Day as the Republic’s national holiday.
The President says national holidays are costly, diagnosis typically costing the government $100, no rx 000 in overtime pay.
Remengesau expressed in his that instead of adopting the traditional holidays of the US the Republic has chosen to legislate its own national holidays.
Although the Memorial Day will no longer be recognized by the national government, many of the state governments will still observe the day according to their laws such as Angaur and Peleliu States who observes the annual Liberation day.
