A Palauan marine researcher employed at the Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC) has been awarded with a prestigious European Union Scholarship.
Adelle lukes Isechal was awarded with EU’s Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, ask which will fully fund her master program.
The scholarship will fund Isechal’s attendance in three universities as she works to obtain her Masters of Science degree in ecohydrology, a study of the interaction of water and biological systems.
Isechal will attend the University of Algarve in Portugal, University of Keil in Germany and the University of La Plata in Argentina beginning in September this year.
She will also conduct field research with PICRC in Palau as part of her master’s degree program.
PICRC, in a press release says being awarded such a competitive scholarship reflects well for Isechal and PICRC because it demonstrates the high quality of work that is produced by researchers.
Isechal currently has a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry.
