Palau Leaders Organizes Forum Against Violence – VIDEO

In light of the increasing number of violent crimes, order Palau President Tommy Remengesau Junior along with elected and traditional leaders has agreed to organize a public forum against violence.
On July 31, information pills during an emergency meeting called by the President, the leaders discussed and agreed to initiate a forum dubbed “Public Forum on Communities Against Crime and Violence”, which the leaders hope would present “real solutions to the growing crime problem.”
In a statement released to the media, President Remengesau said, “This trend is both troubling and unacceptable.
I believe that as elected and appointed leaders of our nation, we must come together to address this issue that has infected our small community.”
In addition to the emergency meeting, the Attorney General’s office and the Bureau of Public Safety issued a joint press release to public this week, reminding everyone about illegal activities such as the legal age to purchase alcohol.
In addition, the Bureau of Public Safety announced increased police presence at popular after hours location.
The forum organized by leaders is set for August 8 at the Ngarachamayong Cultural Center and is open to the public.
