Two weeks ago, a delegation headed by the President took an official state visit to the Republic of China-Taiwan.
The Taiwan sponsored visit was aimed at strengthening ties and exploring areas of cooperation between both countries.
During their visit, President Remengesau Jr and the Palau delegation visited a number of hospitals including the Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital, which is currently treating three Palauan patients under the Medical Referral Program between the two nations.
According to the President’s office, the patients provided good feedbacks about the medical services and requested expansion of rooms available for Palauan patients.
The delegation also attended the nation’s Independence Day celebrations also known as Ten Ten Day where Palauan students studying in Taiwan performed traditional and contemporary Palauan dances.
At the last day of their visit, the delegation hosted a dinner for all 22 Palauans students in Taiwan.
The delegation to Taiwan included Minister Kuartei, Minister Ngirmang, Chief Justice Ngiraklsong, Governor Ulechong, Governor Reklai, Koror State Legislator Ngirmeriil, Press Secretary Keobel Sakuma and Special Assistant Wanda Remeliik.
