After spending the holiday season in Palau, ambulance United States Senator John McCain appeared on the Tonight’s Show, case a popular American television program.
During his appearance with his daughter Meghan McCain who also made the trip to Palau, hospital Senator McCain mentioned the trip describing Palau as a beautiful island in the Pacific when Jay Leno, the show’s host asked where it is.
The brief mention of Palau in the beginning of the program was welcomed with both appreciation and criticism from Palauan citizens both abroad and on island.
The mention of Palau on the national and international program is said to bring attention to the small island nation and possibly tourism.
However others criticized Meghan’s lack of knowledge of Palau’s location despite making the trip over the holiday season.
During the show, McCain and his daughter talked about their favorites amongst the 2016 U.S. Presidential candidates, Meghan’s new cable TV show as well as the best or the worst advice she received from her father.
Senator McCain was bestowed the title of Palau Honorary Citizen during his family vacation to Palau last month.
