President Remengesau’s Transition Committee Report Not Released Yet

By Rolynda Jonathan

President Remengesau’s Transition Committee Report, which is a combination of recommendations and findings prepared by several subcommittees, has not yet been made available to the media or the public.
The Transition Committee Office told OTV they have not released any part of the Report, with exception of the Finance Section to the Olbiil Era Kelulau for the public hearing on the President’s appointment for the Ministry of Finance.
The Report, which is the Management Action Plan for President Remengesau’s administration, has allegedly been the basis of many decisions made within the Ministry of Justice over the past couple of weeks. But with a report not yet available to the public or the media, questions are being raised as whether the new administration is committed to fulfill the “transparency” promise made during its 2012 campaign.
The Transition Committee Office maintains that no one has a draft copy of the Report and no one has a final copy of the Report as the Report is still being produced.
Earlier the Transition Committee Office and the President’s Office both maintained that the report was in the printing process. The Transition Committee has recently retracted that statement and admits that the Report is not yet ready for printing.
