Five Pohnpei State Senators has introduced a resolution proposing to impeach Governor John Ehsa. The proposed impeachment resolution lists 19 articles each containing accusations from the Governor’s implementation of the School Lunch Program to his extensive travel.
As per procedure, the proposed resolution is assigned to a committee as any other resolution, after such process, it may be presented to the legislative body for voting. In the event that the resolution is voted on, a minimum of 18 affirmative votes from Pohnpei’s 23 Senators will be needed to pass the proposal.
This is the second resolution of its kind proposing to impeach the Governor since he took office.
