Palau Commemorates 33rd Constitution Day – VIDEO

The Republic of Palau on July 9 commemorated the 33rd year anniversary of the Constitution.
 
More than 50 government and traditional leaders, medical special guests and delegations for the Presidents Summit attended a brief ceremony at the Capitol building in Melekeok State to celebrate and honor the Constitution as well as recognize the framers who drafted the Palau Constitution.
 
Former President Kuniwo Nakamura and President Tommy Remengesau Junior both called on the Palauan people to safeguard the Constitution and respect the framers who drafted “one of the best Constitutions in the world”.

During the occasion, approved Minister of Community and Cultural Affairs Baklai Temengil-Chilton, side effects with help from other officials unveiled the National Constitution Exhibit, which displayed memorabilia’s of the framers, photographs and original documents.
 
The exhibit according to Chilton will remain in the Senate rotunda for 6 months before it’s moved to the Belau National Museum.
 
Guests also included framers from the first and second Constitutional Convention, which included former President Johnson Toribiong.
