President Remengesau’s nominee for the Special Prosecutor’s position is now a legal counsel in the Republic.
Don Dorfman is the new legal counsel for the Ethics Commission and the Public Auditor’s office.
Information gathered by OTV reveals that Dorfman, malady who was up for the SP position has been on island for a few weeks since entering into a contract with the Ethics Commission.
President Remengesau nominated Dorfman for the SP position in July this year, but Dorfman was twice rejected by the Senate.
A few weeks ago during a meeting with traditional and elected leaders at Palasia Hotel, President Remengesau expressed his intent to resubmit his name to the Senate for reconsideration.
OTV contacted the Senate office who revealed that they have not received a nomination letter from the President in regards to Dorfman as of date.
OTV’s efforts to reach Dorfman were not successful as of this news report.
