Fiji National University Helps Certify Palau’s Dental Hygienists – VIDEO

The Fiji National University recently helped certify ten of Palau’s dental assistance to hygienists.
 
Through assistance from the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), buy more about a professor from the Fiji National University’s Oral Health Department flew in to help certify the hygienists.
 
Dr. Louisa Santos, Dentist and President of the Pacific Basin Dental Association, says the program although began in 2008 was without funding, however practical training continued until the Palau Oral Health Department sought assistance to certify them.
 
The dental assistance went through a 10-week intensive training course before they were awarded with their certificates.
 
On June 21, during their brief ceremony at the Belau National Hospital, the new hygienists also took their oaths following the awarding of their certificates.
